the glitter series part 2: domestic violence
Although I realize that I have done something similar to this before, I believe the message behind these photos is extremely important. Domestic violence is a serious issue. I use the glitter to not only represent the abuse part of it, but also as a way to symbolize the victim's "responsibility" or pressure to still remain and act like everything is ok; this pressure to still be beautiful and radiant despite the trauma they are facing.

1. Eric Ryan Anderson, based in Brooklyn

likes: I enjoy the variety of photos that are displayed on his overview page, I like that he has a specific tab for his projects where he has grouped together photos that were part of particular shoots, and I like that his pictures are more creative.
dislikes: I wish he had more categories, that he gave a few short explanations for some of his project shoots, and I don't really understand the lightbox tab.
There are 8 tabs and he has over 200 photos in his portfolio.
2. Nick Onken, New York

likes: i enjoy the slide show of his pictures on his home page, i like the creative documentation style of is photos, and I like that he has a page for his clients.
dislikes: the site is kind of hard to navigate, the tabs are really really small, and the buttons that let you surf through the pictures are a really small and hard to find.
There are 6 tabs and he has over 300 photos in his portfolio.
3. Stan Seaton, Darlington

likes: His site looks very clean and organized, his photos are elegant and creative and i like the descriptions he gives for each of his wedding events.
dislikes: he has two separate website so I don't really know where I'm going (??), there are not a lot of tabs and they are kind of confusing, it's difficult to navigate.
there are 3 tabs and he has over 500 photos in his portfolio.

likes: I love love love how he places big dramatic photos on every tab to draw your attention and give viewers an idea of what his style is. I like that he uses a picture to be the face of his categories, and that the colors on his website reflect his style of portraiture.
dislikes: i wish he put a bit more in the about tab, he doesn't give his location but instead just lists his contact info, and his tabs are just a little hard to find.
there are 6 tabs and he has around 100 photos in his portfolio.
5. Steffen Knudsen Allen, New York

likes: i like that he has a tab for his clients, i like that he has a tab for his recent projects, and i like that the theme is simple.
dislikes: I dislike that his home page is just black, that some of the tabs don't work, and that the portfolio has a drop down bar but nothing drops down from it.

likes: I like that the pictures on his home screen are placed in kind of a pinterest-y type set up, i like that he has many sub categories/tabs, and I like that his bio is relatively long and shows a lot of his experience.
dislikes: the bio is a little too long maybe (?? lol), but that's really all I cant think of. Maybe if he gave some descriptions for his projects it would have been cool.

likes: I like that her bio was short, simple, and sweet. I like that she provides a video that allows people to learn more about her shooting style, and i like that he home page has a slideshow of her photos.
dislikes: i wish she had a tab specific to her portfolio, i wish i could fully see the photos in the background of her home page, and i wish she had categories for her different wedding events.
there are 6 tabs and around 100 photos in her portfolio.
8. Nicolas Tarier, Paris

likes: i like that his photos are placed in a grid form, i like that his tabs are small drop downs, and i like that he uses light font and black in white for his website to contrast his colorful photos.
dislikes: that the website scrolls down when your mouse moves over the page (you don't scroll using your mouse), I wish he had a larger variety of models, there is only a small variety of photos.
there are two tabs and he has around 30 photos in his portfolio.

likes: I like that his website is neat and organized, i like the photos he chose to use on his home page, and i like that he has a list of his clients.
dislikes: I don't like that everything is located on the same page, I don't like the setup of his portfolio, and I don't like how plain his website seems.

likes: I like that he includes quotes from other people about him on his bio, I like his "filter by category" sub tabs on his portfolio tab, and i like the modern/sophisticated look of his website.
dislikes: i dislike that he doesn't say a lot about himself in his about tab, he doesn't have a lot of tabs, and i wish he gave some info about his projects.

likes: i like that her blog reflects her personality, I like the simplicity of her blog, and I like that she has a tab for her blog.
dislikes: I wish she had a tab specific to her portfolio with her sub categories in in, I wish she had a tab with her clients on it, and i dislike how her homepage works.

dislikes: I don't like that the first few tabs are labeled in all caps and then some are lowercase, i dislike that he has created some tabs that only have "coming soon" in them, and i dislike that his contact page is very bland and lacks info.
